|Arizona Poppy (Kallstroemia grandiflora)|
The Arizona Poppy is also called the Arizona Caltrop, Mal de Ojos, Orange Caltrop, or Summer Poppy.
A stunning annual herb native to the desert southwest, this relative to the Creosote bush will start to grow like crazy after sufficient rains.
It is found from sea level to 6,000 feet.
The deep taproot will keep it going as long as it is watered fairly regularly, but cannot tolerate "wet feet."
